Listening, Discovering, Connecting people & places

This project is to help local residents flourish by building stronger, thriving communities. Since 2021, this initiative has worked to understand what matters most to people, empowering them to take control of their lives in community and bring their ideas to life.

Community Connectors, hosted by The Shoebox Enterprises CIC, have held over 5,200 conversations with residents across Norwich neighbourhoods. Through meaningful discussions, they uncover people’s passions, aspirations, and what they need to create positive change in their communities as well as gathering insights that guide collaborative efforts to tackle inequality and strengthen marginalised groups.

These discussions happen everywhere. At Shoebox, in cafes, schools, events, and beyond, ensuring everyone has a chance to be heard. By empowering individuals and groups, the Community Connectors work with our partner Norwich City Council to help transform ideas into action, creating lasting improvements in community life.

Data and Insights

The valuable feedback collected is shared with our funding partners including Norwich City Council and Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System, as well as local forums, to drive further learning and support community development.

Key findings from the Community Conversations can be explored on our Insights Hub.

Sadly, this current phase of the Community Connector project is due to finish at the end of March 2025. If you’re interested in exploring ways to use the data and insights to help shape your services or community, or would like to discuss potential funding opportunities for this project please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.
